Greenpeace visited the Department
31.10.2013 For the second time, the course Managing Corporate Communication invited a visitor from Greenpeace to talk about their perspective towards corporations and their communications. The visit was now highly topical as the organization has been constantly in the Finnish headlines for the last few weeks.
Anne Kankaanranta Teacher of the Year!
09.09.2013 Anne Kankaanranta, Senior University Lecturer at the Department of Communication was given Aalto BIZ "Teacher of the Year" award for her excellent achievements in the development of the School's educational programs. Congratulations!
Project management tools for multidisciplinary research
13.05.2012 The Department of Communication hosted a successful intensive course on “Project management tools for multi-disciplinary research: Design and article writing processes from conception to publication” for KATAJA (the Finnish doctoral program in business studies) PhD students. The objective of the course was to help doctoral students develop methods for creating and evaluating both research design and contribution potential to key journals with multi-disciplinary perspectives. As teachers, the course featured two internationally acknowledged communication studies scholars, Dr. Constance Kampf from the University of Aarhus and Dr. Kirk St. Amant from East Caroline University.
UNESCO Joint Policy Forum on Mainstreaming Open Educational Practices (OEP) forum
23.11.2011 Alona Senishch, who works at the Aalto ECON Department of Communication, participated in UNESCO Joint Policy Forum on Mainstreaming Open Educational Practices (OEP) in the context of higher education, which was held Nov. 14 2011 in Paris. The forum brought together educational professionals, organizational leaders and policy makers from around the world to examine the results of Open Educational Quality Initiative (OPAL) and Content Creation Excellence through Dialogue in Education (CONCEDE) projects that promote innovation and quality in higher education OEPs.

Highlight in IBC History – both DSc and MSc Graduates celebrated
17.12.2010 Friday 17 Dec. 2010 was a highlight in the history of IBC since for the first time we were able to celebrate graduates from both the doctoral and master’s program on the same day.
