Writing Conceptions and Their Relation to Emotions

Maria Cerrato Lara, Universitat Ramon Llull, Spain. 
 
In her talk, Maria Cerrato Lara will be talking about the psychology of thesis writing and her recent research on graduate students' experiences on writing. Drawing on and extending the research and insights on learning-environments, emotional wellbeing, and the (discursive) constitution of the identity of the student in and through the writing, she aims to uncover and elaborate on how Spanish PhD students perceive their doctoral education and how it can be potentially improved.

Bio
 
Maria Cerrato Lara’s is a Doctoral Candidate in educational psychology at Universitat Ramon Llull, Barcelona, Spain. Her background is educational psychology. In her work, she combines insights from various fields to study how PhD students experience their doctoral education, and particularly how they experience writing their thesis.
 
Maria Cerrato Lara is currently visiting Aalto-BIZ Department of Communication, finishing her PhD study.
