The world changes but does rewarding?

During the seminar we will discuss how the change in careers and working life reflect on the everyday life of rewarding. Two internationally acclaimed rewarding professionals tells us about the background of rewarding and about the global challenges. Professor Matti Vartiainen, who leads the research group will enlighten us about the future of rewarding.

Furthermore four researchers of rewarding are interviewed about how their research are able to be used in organisations. Later during the day, CEO Kiisa Hulkko-Nyman discusses the seminar’s subjects and how they can be used to improve rewarding practices.

During the seminar the book ”Palkitseminen ihmisten johtamisessa” is released.

11:30 Registration.

12:30: Keynote: ”Evidence-based approach to compensation” - Dr. Sven Kepes,  Associate Professor of Management, Virginia Commonwealth University.

skepes.jpgSven Kepes, an Associate Professor of Management at Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas. His research interests include personnel selection, compensation, strategic human resource management, and research methods, particularly meta-analysis and publication bias. His research has been published in several journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Organizational Research Methods.

 

 

shaw_jason.jpgJason D. Shaw, Chair Professor of Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to his current appointment, he worked as a professor in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. His research has appeared in several journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Journal of Management, among other scientific outlets. Professor Shaw previously served in elected leadership positions on the Executive Committee of the Academy of Management and the Board of Governors of the Southern Management Association.
